Nancy Darlene McConnell of McCordsville died October 23, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 70.
Nancy was born September 3, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Harold C. and Katherine M. Biner. As a child she moved to California and always considered herself a California girl. She was a past member of Ozzie’s Marching Chargers (the band for the San Diego Chargers). She worked as a computer instructor traveling around the country for Cigna Insurance.
She moved back home to Indiana in 1982 and met Marshall Lee McConnell whom she married in 1983. As they started a family, she dedicated her life to staying home to raise her children whom she adored. Her biggest joy in life was her time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Geist Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Indiana Transportation Museum, and served on the Fortville Library Board. An avid baker and cook, she competed in and won many competitions at the Indiana State Fair.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 35 years Marshall Lee McConnell; children Nathan McConnell (Julie), Matthew McConnell, Michael McConnell, and Michele McConnell (Duane McDevitt); granddaughters Kate and Audrey McConnell; sister Karen Huntley; and nieces Cheryl and Harper Huntley. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29 from 3 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
