Nancy Lee (Ranger) Anderson, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away June 24th, 2022. She was born August 21st, 1940 in Indianapolis, to parents James E. MacDonald and Dorothy (Land) MacDonald.
Nancy grew up in Indy and graduated from Broad Ripple high school.
She worked as an insurance adjuster for Continental Insurance Company for many years before retiring.
Nancy met Robert “Bob” Anderson, long time friends from high school and were married for 20+ years.
She attended church at Epworth United Methodist Church for many years.
Nancy was a vibrant, loving woman. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader—especially romance and mystery novels. An excellent cook, she enjoyed sharing her treats and meals with family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed vacationing in Florida. Nancy loved taking long Sunday drives, even in her later years. She was a proud cat-mom and bird-mom. Nancy was a QVC addict, usually purchasing kitchen gadgets that she may or may not have ever used.
She was a devoted Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Laura Hagan, Jimmy Ranger (Chris), Scott Ranger (Diane), and Kelly Sloane (Mike); Grandchildren Corrie Hagan, Lucas Ranger, Ben Ranger, Sam Ranger, Drew Ranger, Carly Ranger, Amanda Turner, Jeffrey Dunn, and Joel Dunn; three great-grandchildren; and her two favorite birds.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and her sister Linda Maher.
Visitation for Nancy will be Wednesday, June 29th, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park, from 10am-12pm; her funeral will begin at 12pm. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
