Myrella Pearl Elrod, 98 from Carmel, Indiana, passed away February 17, 2019. She was born May 6, 1920, in Covington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Rex and Lois (Brown) Marshall. In 1959, she married Charles Elrod who preceded her in passing on December 10, 1999. Her paternal grandfather was one of three Irish brothers who migrated to the U. S. following the Potato Famine and who fought during the Civil War.
Myrella worked in the administrative offices for the William H. Block Co. and RCA. She attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed shopping, and traveling with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and granny who will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Denise (Juan) Cardenas; two grandchildren, Blake Cardenas and Christina Cardenas; and a sister, Imogene Ingram. She was preceded in passing by a brother, Richard Marshall; and a sister, Janet Marshall.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service.
