Myles Murphy, 84 of Carmel, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021. Myles was born May 8, 1937 in Dublin, Ireland to the late Myles and Mary Elizabeth Murphy of Clonliffe Road. Dublin 3. He attended the Jesuit Belvedere College Secondary School in Dublin and studied Structural Engineering in Brixton College, London. He immigrated into the US in 1987 to take up a structural engineering position in Indianapolis with the then Jacobs International Engineering Group. Later in his career, he worked for Fink, Roberts and Petrie (Structural Engineering/Architectural Firm) and at Fanning Howey (Structural Engineers). At various periods in his career, Myles also worked as an independent structural engineering consultant in Indianapolis.

Myles was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. He was a keen amateur artist and was a member of various painting groups throughout his life in Indianapolis. He studied oil painting at the Indianapolis Art Center and won awards for his plein air paintings. He was a volunteer at the Holy Family Shelter Indianapolis for some years.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 Tuesday, October 26 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 9:30 am until the time of the service.

Myles will be deeply missed by his family. Myles is survived by his wife, Mairead (Margaret) Murphy; children, Catherine Doyle, Therese (husband, David) Langfitt, Myles (wife, Breanna) Murphy, Sean Murphy; grandchildren, Ciaran Doyle, Roisin Longfellow, Niamh and Sophie Langfitt, Myles and Clare Murphy; sisters, Cora Palombella, Eileen Goodwin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Baskett and brothers, Seamus and Denny Murphy.
