Mose Clark, Jr.

February 24, 1937 — March 2, 2025

Mose Clark, Jr. was born February 24, 1937, in Lynch, Kentucky to the late Mose Clark Sr. and Esther Lee Houser. On March 2, 2025, he peacefully departed his earthly home reuniting with his loving wife, parents, stepfather, Barney Houser Sr., his beloved brothers, Leonard and Clyde Clark and his sister, Alice Rivers.

Mose graduated from West Main High School in Lynch, KY. After graduation, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to seek employment. Mose was employed by Allison Transmission for over 35 years of loyal and dedicated service. After his retirement from Allison, he joined the workforce at the Finance Center as a custodian where he was admired for his humor and hard work.

Mose was a man of unwavering faith, accepting Christ as his savior at a young age. He was a devoted member of St. Mark AME Zion Church where he served as a loyal choir member, trustee, male chorus singer and an overall handyman. The last few years he fellowshipped with Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he served as a “self-appointed” deacon singing, praying and giving praise. One of his greatest joys was dressing up as Santa Clause during the Christmas holidays at his church.

Mose‘s greatest love, however, was his family. He was blessed with over 54 years of marriage to Christella Williams Clark. Their union was graced by the joy of three sons: Keith, Stefan and Mose Christopher and a daughter, Delnitta. Seven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Mose’s love and legacy will continue to shine through those who hold his memory dear, his siblings: Gearldine Thorpe, Tommie Walls, Esther Whittlesey (Stan) Arthur Houser, Barney Houser and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mose’s radiant spirit, generous heart and steadfast faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he has departed from this world, his legacy of love, kindness and grace will live on eternally.
