Mildred T. “Lou” DeArmond

72, of New Palestine, passed away September 10, 2017. Lou was born in Charleston, South Carolina on June 1, 1945 to her parents, Perry and Bernice (Brinson) Thornley. She graduated from Macediona High School, where she was a member of the Girls Championship Basketball team and Queen of her high school beauty contest. Lou, loved children and spent most of her career as a stay at home mom. She went on to own her own daycare15 years. Lou loved to sing and work with ceramics.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Bernice and siblings, Stoney Thornley and Danny Thornley.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jimmy W. DeArmond, Sr.; daughter, Cammie Walden (Donnie) and son, Jimmy W. DeArmond, Jr. (Jennifer); 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Walden, Ethan DeArmond, and Caleb DeArmond; and her sisters, Madeline Powers and Roberta Thornley.

Friends may call from 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. A private graveside service will be held at Washington Park East Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lou’s memory to Westminster Village North.
