Age 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on October 5, 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martinsville, Indiana since 2005, prior member of Eagledale Baptist Church in Indianapolis from 1985-2005, being baptized in 1985, as well as an attendee of Marwood Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Millie was sprinkled a Methodist as a child in Lexington, Kentucky where she was born to Frederick W. Bablitz and Elizabeth Turpin Bablitz on August 28, 1926. Millie was a member of Continental Dance Club from 1977 until January 2005. She was manager of Peppy Grill in the 1950s for 4 years, a senior baker and part-time assistant manager at Danner’s Cambridge Inn Cafeteria for 20 years, and worked for Arby’s restaurant for almost 4 years. As a member of Continental Dance Club, she was crowned Queen of Hearts in 1980 and again in 1995. Millie also spent time volunteering as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in her earlier years.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, son, Ron Savonen, siblings, Fred Bablitz, Edward Bablitz, Betty Sebastian, as well as a grandson, Ryan Weiss. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Jim Bowling, Dave Bowling, Marvin Bowling, Don Bowling, Frank Clark, Will Clark, Lawana Clark Cleaver, siblings, Grace Cox, Hazel Gilldenzopf, Joanne Jasper, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit from 2-6 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis.
