Mildred M. Harris

Mildred M. Harris, 87, of Carmel, IN passed away March 5, 2019. Mildred was born in Laona, Wisconsin to the late Thomas and Sarah Cox on February 24, 1932.

Mildred married the love of her life, James R. Harris, on March 19, 1951 in San Luis Obispo, California.  Mildred married her second love, Byron Frank, in Las Vegas in 1994.

Mildred had a servant’s heart and spent much of her free time volunteering at Community East Hospital. She even would dress as Tappie the clown to entertain patients during their hospital stay. She also loved dancing and playing cards.

Mildred is survived by her beloved children, Debby (Bill) McGreehan, Russ Harris, Mark (Patty) Harris, and Rob (Amy) Harris, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband James R. Harris, her second husband, Byron Frank, one granddaughter Kimberly Harris, siblings Mary (Darrell) Jacobs, Eva (Harold) Goodman, Jim (Phyllis) Cox, Willis (Ida) Cox, Jack (Helen) Cox, Mattiebelle (David) McAtee, JoHannah (Donald) Sleeth, Betty (Bill) Dean, Bob (Sue) Cox, two sisters-in-law Vera (Walt) Nea and Mary (Clinton) Taylor and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dementia Society of America.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11AM-12PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN with funeral services immediately following at 12PM.
