Mildred L. -Mickey- (Voyles-Dixon) Cook Spradlin

Mildred L. “Mickey”(Voyles Dixon Cook) Spradlin, 91, passed away January 21, 2016.

She was bornMarch 3, 1924 in Shidler, OK to the late George and Nina Spradlin the familythen moved to Jacksonville, IL where Mildred grew up and later married Harold Voyles,he precedes her in death along with husbands, Cecil Dixon, Herman Cook, Jr. 2sisters, 4 brothers, son-in-law, Bruce Jones.

Mildred andHarold had 2 children that survive, Sandra Jones, Huntsville, AL and Maurice L.Voyles, Indianapolis. She and Cecil had a son, Glenn E. (Connie) Dixon,Indianapolis. March 5, 1965 she and Herman married and they are survived bystep-daughter, Theresa Cook Burson, Goodlettsville, TN. She will be missed byher 4 children; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces andnephews whom she loved dearly. She was always proud to show everyone picturesof her family.

Mildred wasretired from Marion County Recorder’s Office after years of service. She enjoyedtraveling, bowling, gardening, garage sales, singing in the church choir andmany church socials where her Banana Pudding was requested and enjoyed by all. Mildredmost recently lived at The Plainfield Health Care where she made many friendsin the health care profession. Her family would like to thank them along withthe staff at IU Health-Methodist Hospital that treated her with such kindness.

Visitationwill be 11 am until service time at 1 pm Monday, January 25, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425N. Holt Rd. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
