Mickie M. Jones

Mickie Michelle Jones, 53, left this world entirely too soon. Mickie passed away surrounded by family & friends on Sunday July 7th, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mickie was born January 10th, 1971, in Malvern, Arkansas, to loving parents Frederick and Beverly (Danner) Jones.

 Mickie was raised in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where she attended both elementary & middle schools. Mickie graduated from Malvern high school, class of 1989. In 1990 Mickie and her family relocated to Portland Oregon, where she would take on her greatest role, as mother to her son Dustin. 

 Mickie had a love and passion for volleyball from a young age. This would eventually lead her to coaching & starting her own club team. Mickie would continue her education, and graduate from Everest College in 2011 becoming a paralegal. Later in life, she returned to school to study & earn her real estate license. 

 Micke was a hard worker and explored several careers throughout her life. Until her passing, Mickie was the treasurer for Fall Creek Valley Middle School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her co workers tell story after story of the constant she became in so many of their lives. Mickie was always a shoulder, their support system, and friend. 

Mickie was a vibrant, loving, & larger than life woman. She had a love for music, art, and culture. She enjoyed traveling, especially to warm sunny places. Mickie was an avid reader and often finished books within a day. She loved playing games with her family and supporting her brother, son, and nephews over many years of basketball. She could always be heard cheering them on.

 Mickie is survived by her parents Frederick and Beverly Jones; her beloved son Dustin Jones; her brother Frederick Jones; sister in law Kia Jones; nephews Terrell & Tré Jones; Aunts, Uncles, and a host of cousins. Mickie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Matthew Ulysses Jones, and Inez Hannah, and her maternal grandparents, Derklee & Helen Danner.
