Michael R. Smith

Michael R. Smith, 77, of Westfield, Indiana passed away Friday, November 5, 2021.  He was born June 14, 1944, in Linton, Indiana the son of the late William E. Smith and Melba R. (Jennings) Gossett.  He married Faye A. Roush on September 4, 1965.

Mike retired in December 1993 as a laborer and a benefits representative for Chrysler after 30 years of service. He was also an avid fisherman and golfer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Faye Smith; daughter, Michelle Rene’ (David) Zelner; two grandsons, Chad Michael Zelner and Carson David Zelner; and two sisters, Janet K. (Robert) Stephens and Elaine Gossett.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home, with a reception to follow.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Melanoma Research Alliance, www.curemelanoma.org.
