Michael Philip Martindale, beloved by many, passed away on December 27, 2022 at the age of 73 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on June 18, 1949, the third son of Sophia and Willard Martindale.
Michael, known as Mike, graduated from Jackson High School in 1967 where he met his wife Sidna Peters and then completed his associates degree at Holy Cross focusing his life-long career in sales management. Following the passing of Sidna’s extensive battle with breast cancer, Mike immediately was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; however, found a new companionship and love with Barbara Crandall through his remaining years. Mike is succeeded by two children, Tracey Draschil (daughter Riley and son Drew) and Shannon Martindale (fiancé Angela Kirshner and son Maddox and step daughters Alyssa and Addison), as well as two brothers, Alan Martindale (wife Karen) and Kent Martindale (wife Jane), and extended family. Barbara’s family, who also deeply cared for Mike, included Heather Blaudow (husband Chris and children Drew, Addi and Ruth) and Tracy Litvan (husband Ted and children Mason and Megan).
A member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge 414 and a master mason, Mike exemplified integrity from how he coached his softball teams, to helping snowblow a neighbor’s driveway to leading a sales division; his intent was always to do what was right. Mike also had a wonderful dry sense of humor that was infectious to many that provided a gentleness to his serious demeanor. Additionally, he had a huge heart for his pups–especially his golden retrievers Chloey and Bailey.
Mike suffered a massive heart attack on December 26th, 2022 at IU Health Saxony in Fishers and had been lifelined to IU Health Methodist in downtown Indianapolis for specialized care; however, due to extensive blockage he passed mid-morning the next day surrounded by immediate family.
