Michael "Mike" William Murphy

Michael “Mike” William Murphy, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away March 10^th, 2022. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, March 5^th, 1942 to parents William and Juanita Murphy.

Mike grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Christian Brothers College High School. He continued his education at St. Louis University where he received his bachelor’s degree.

In 1967, Mike married the love of his life, Patricia “Trish” Dent. They share 54 wonderful years together and raised two children, Sean and Patrick.

He worked as a pipefitter with Local 562 in St. Louis for over 40 years before retiring at the age of 62.

Mike and his wife were valued members of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic church.

Mike was a hardworking, loving gentleman. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and his hometown of St. Louis. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing MG cars and collecting watches. He was able to fix anything and everything when it came to cars and homes. He was so talented when it came to solving problems. Above all, he adored his family and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Trish; his sons Sean Murphy and Patrick (Shalon) Murphy; and grandchildren Makayla, Spencer, and Preston.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will take place Thursday March 17^th at Holy Spirit at Geist church at 11am.  He will then be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
