Michael McGraw, 69 of Indianapolis, passed away at home on September 8, 2018. He was born on July 19, 1949, to Edwin F. McGraw and Betty Jean Hostetler McGraw.

1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14 NIV

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

Captain Michael McGraw served his country as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U. S. Army from February 20, 1969 – September 9, 1973. He served in Vietnam from January 28, 1971 – January 2, 1972. His military honors include National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Honor Medal 1st Class, and two over sea Stars.  Captain McGraw received an Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement from September 1, 1972 – December 22, 1972, and a Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces from January – December 1971.

His hobbies included fishing, golfing, sports, animals (especially cats), and nature.

Michael was preceded in passing by his father, Edwin F. McGraw, and his mother, Betty Jean (Hostetler) Jaggar.

He is survived by his daughter Erin Andrade, grandson Derek Andrade, son Todd McGraw, granddaughters Torrin and Taylor McGraw, daughter Rachel McGraw, sisters Patti McGraw, and Debby Orff, and granddaughter Kendra Whittle.

A memorial service will be held on October 6, 2018, starting at 11:30am, with fellowship and food following until 3:00p at The Salvation Army Eagle Creek, 4400 N High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Salvation Army Eagle Creek food pantry or youth programs.
