Michael L. "Mike" Jones

Michael L. “Mike” Jones, 75 of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023.  Mike was born on July 9, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Paul J. Jones and Betty K. Jones.

He graduated from Marian College in 1968 with a degree in German.  He taught German at Cathedral High School for three years.  He graduated in 1974 from Marion College with a degree in Accounting.  He worked in Accounting at Allied Fidelity, Lane Bryant and Gene Glick.  He owned and operated Great Books in Nora Plaza for three years.  He was then self-employed as a CPA for 25 years doing taxes and investments.  Mike was a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the Indiana Association of Public Accountants, Inc.

Mike loved to travel.  He made many trips to Europe and also enjoyed cruises.  He was an avid reader and also loved analyzing the stock market.  He had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful husband.

Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law in Ohio, Marc and Carol Blessing; nephew in Vermont, Max Blessing; aunt in Florida, Thelma White, as well as many cousins in Ohio, Indiana and California.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel where family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
