Michael T. Henry

March 25, 1954 — November 24, 2024

Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – Michael T. Henry, 70, passed away on November 24, 2024. His orneriness masked a heart of gold, who was always there to help. He will be sadly missed.

Michael was born on March 25, 1954, to parents Charles Henry and Gertrude (Harlan) Saferight in Indianapolis. He went on to graduate from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1973. Michael was a volunteer for over 30 years with the Order of DeMolay and a longtime employee of the Indiana Box Company in Greenfield, Indiana. He was affectionately known as Gadget at work for his toolbox full of any tool that anyone would need. By his family, he was known as Poppa, their sarcastic grandfather.

When Michael found time to relax, you could find him reading the latest Stephen King novel, listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, or checking out the latest movie. His greatest joy was in his family though and spending time with them. Whether that was a backyard game of wiffle ball or cornhole, a heated card game of Euchre, or tasting new Vodkas, he loved to share time with others.

However, most especially, Michael loved his Karen and spending time with her. Married on November 26, 1976, they spent 48 wonderful years together.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by siblings Vicky and Tommy Henry, son-in-law David Pluckebaum, grandson Thomas William Stuckey and great-grandson Kyle Stuckey.

He is survived by his wife Karen (Miller) Henry, daughters Karey Pluckebaum (David #1), and Kristin Messer (David #2); sister Twila Johnson; grandchildren Michael Pluckebaum, Kyle Messer, and Rodney Stuckey (Rachael); great-grandchildren Aron Stuckey and Tristin Stuckey
