Michael Beach La Masters

Michael (“Mike”) B. LaMasters, 79.loving husband and father passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018. Mike is survived by wife, Sharon; children. Michael J. LaMasters and daughter, Elaine M. O’Brien. Grandchildren Delaney and Aiden O’Brien; brothers Jim, George (“Toby”) and sister, Melissa and their spouses. Another brother, Tim predeceased Mike.
Mike was born June 19, 1938 in Seymour, Indiana to Walter G.and Virginia (Hedden) LaMaster. Mike graduated from Seymour High School in 1956..He attended the University of Kentucky for one year and then joined the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman. Mike was later commissioned as a officer in the Medical Service Corps and graduated from George Washington University. After retirement in 1978, Mike moved to Indianapolis where he worked as Business Administrator for the IU Hospital Dept. of Radiology. Mike’s life encompassed a variety of interests including: running, swimming,biking,hiking,canoeing and kayaking, IRL races and photography. He had been active with Indy Runners, CIBA, PhotoVenture Photography club and volunteering at Eagle Creek Park.
The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the hard-working staff of the Plaza at the Barrington of Carmel for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers all donations can be made either to the American Heart Association or organization of choice.
