Meredith Rose, daughter of Miriam and Robert Kelly (stepfather) passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024 after battling lung cancer.
Meredith was born in Dayton, Ohio, where she lived with her mother Miriam, stepfather Robert Kelly and her big sister, Ardele. Meredith moved to Indianapolis in 1962 where she lived for over 62 years. She married Merle Rose, Jr. in 1972.
Meredith is survived by her two sons, Mike (Kathy) and Mark (Chris) Martindill from her first husband, William Martindill. They grew up in Indianapolis and now live in Georgia and California, respectively. In addition to her two boys, Meredith is the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Merle Rose, Jr., who is survived by his two sons, Merle Rose III (Susan) and Kerry (Tracey) Rose and their extended family.
Meredith was an avid walker and swimmer. She adored her dog, Christy who was always by her side.
Meredith’s love of animals included serving as the Administrator for the website, the DC Eagle Cam Watchers Club, that followed the daily lives of American Bald Eagles. She had an enormous following as she provided daily updates on her Facebook website. There’s no doubt she is now soaring high with her beloved eagles.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses from Ascension, St. Vincent Hospital for their extraordinary care and all that they do to help patients like her deal with an illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society to help their efforts to improve the lives of people facing cancer and their loved ones.
