Meredith J. Gagen

Meredith J. Gagen, of Carmel, Indiana formerly of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022, a day after her 87th birthday. She was the daughter of the late Byron A. and Rhea (Strode) Nelson, and was born on January 23, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Meredith was a Title Clerk at Stoops Freightliner for many years. She enjoyed life especially spending time with her family and was a long-time member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. After retiring she spent many hours volunteering at the former Westview Hospital. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Meredith is survived by her children, Suzanne (Scott) Goodman, Mark (Nancy) Gagen, her grandchildren, Madalyn Gagen, Samuel Gagen, and her sister, Joy (Don) Burkhardt. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry W. Gagen and her infant brother, Richard “Dicky” Nelson. Visitation for Meredith will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with her Funeral Service at 1:00pm.
