Meredith Dean Harmon, 87, of Zionsville, passed away April 13, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Boone County. He was born January 9th, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Rush Jay and Josephene Eliza (Hollingsworth) Harmon Sr. He was raised in Royalton and spent most of his life in Zionsville.
Meredith was preceded in death by his wife Pamela Fryman Harmon and his brother, Rush Harmon Jr. Meredith is survived by his daughter, Carol Jean Lovell (David) of Brownsburg; son, William Tracy Fryman (Debbie) of Indianapolis; Four Grandchildren, Matthew Lovell (Lindsay), Christa Lake (Adam), Craig Fryman (Bridget) and Sara Pogorov (John) and 13 great grandchildren.
Meredith graduated from Zionsville Highschool in 1954. He served proudly in the military in the Army Reserve. He worked for an independent asphalt company running a paver for some time and ultimately worked for Hunter Engineering as a Service Technician and trainer for 33 years until his retirement. After his retirement, Meredith worked part time as a greeter at Flanner Buchanan in Zionsville for 10+ years. Meredith was a proud member of the Masons. He was a member of Zionsville Christian Church. He loved his family, dogs, John-Deere tractors and racing. He held season tickets for the Indianapolis 500 for several years, and never missed watching the NASCAR races on the weekends.
Calling will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 28 at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville, 105 W. Pine Street, Zionsville, IN 46077 with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Boone County Humane Society and American Cancer Society, specifically for Breast Cancer.
