Melvin "Mel" L. Cook

Melvin “Mel” L. Cook, 73, peacefully passed away at home on January 28, 2018. He was born on March 25, 1944 to the late Ernest C. and Myrtle A. Cook. On June 5, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Connie S. Cook.

Mel enjoyed golfing, hunting, and playing tennis. He was also an avid collector of all things eagles.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest and Myrtle Cook; and his brother, Ernest Cook.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie S. Cook; his children, Tina (Phil) Gunter and David (Penny) Cook; his grandchildren, Jessica Starkey, Matt Cook, Doug (Megan) Cheek, and Jacob Cheek; and his great granddaughter, Riley Starkey.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., with the service immediately following. Entombment will take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
