Mckinley W. Baker

McKinley Wayne Baker passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 31, 2022. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 25, 1945 to parents Kellus and Delphia Baker. He was a retiree from Chrysler transmission where he worked for most of his adult life. He was married to the love of his life for 57 years, leaving his earthly body exactly 1 year after her passing. He enjoyed many things, such as playing guitar and piano and teaching his grandchildren how to do both, singing gospel songs, and working on cars; but most importantly he loved spending time with his wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was his most treasured possession. He was a blessing to all who knew him.

He is survived by his children: Tina (Rick) Wood, and Kara (Scott) Weremay; step-children: John (Barbara) Marshall, James Marshall, and Theresa Merrill; brother, Carl (Gene) Baker; sister, Odena Phelps;  grandchildren: Gina Clark, Lisa Bond, Don Merrill, Amy Merrill, Michelle (Brad) Shoemaker, Daniel (Sarah) Marshall, and John Wayne Marshall; great-grandchildren: Makayla (Damien), Cameron (Josie), Madelyn, McKenna, Chandler, Cayden, Ashley (Jacob), and Arianna, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

McKinley is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sue, parents: Kellus and Delphia; sister, Mary Clestine; brothers: Kellus Ray, and James A. Elgin; nephews: Rick and Jeff, and grandson, Corbin.
