Maxine Elizabeth Barrett

Maxine Barrett died on April 11, 2020 at the age of 90 at her home in New Palestine, IN.

She was born December 10, 1929 in Lincoln City, IN to James and Prudence Rout.

Maxine graduated from Dale High School in Dale, IN. She married James (Jim) Barrett on March 13, 1948. Maxine and Jim raised five children and moved several times associated with his work for the Southern Railway (now Norfolk Southern Railway), including KY, IN, IL and AL. Upon Jim’s retirement in 1987, they moved to Phoenix, AZ where they resided until returning to Indiana in 2002.

Maxine is survived by her children Nancy Storm (Jim) of Dunedin, FL, Michael (Mike) Barrett (Jeanie) of Colleyville, TX, Bonnie Frederick of New Palestine, IN, and Bruce Barrett (Kristy) of Birmingham, MI. Maxine had 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Glenn of Dale, IN.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Jolaine (Jodie) Barrett.

She will missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family will be holding a private service at a later date.
