Max Verlin Smith

Max Verlin Smith age, 78, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Community East Hospital. Max was born To Emmett and Ferne (Disher) Smith on November 10, 1938, in Ogden, IN. Max was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marilyn Pittman, Donna Stader and brother Donald D. Smith. Survivors include his best friend and wife Connie of 22 years. Max also leaves behind his brother Jarl (Sandy) and his seven children; Rick (Susie), Nick, Dennis, Renee, Kim, Rob and Shelby, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Besides being a dedicated Harley rider Max enjoyed pumping iron with his friends at the gym, staying in touch with his Warren High School classmates, submitting his daily quotes on Facebook, and summer gardening. Max had many friends, some mentionable and some unmentionable, and you know who you are. He loved you all. Max was a 43 year member of Plumber and Pipefitters Local 440 here in Indiana. The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff at Community East Hospital and Cancer Center for the exceptional loving care extended to Max during his illness.
