Max Eugene Sumpter, Jr.

Max Eugene Sumpter, Jr., 62, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born on May 3, 1954 in Indianapolis to Max E. Sumpter, Sr. and Ella Mae (Cheek) Sumpter. Max was a 1972 graduate of Arlington High School and was currently employed as the Director of Supplier Quality for Tube Fab Roman Engineering in Afton, MI. Max was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed cheering on the Colts, Pacers and IU, along with his favorite Nascar drivers. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Paula (Ivy) Sumpter; children, Max E. (Shawane) Sumpter III and Brandi Lynn (Allen) Neely; 6 grandchildren, Arica, Alexandra, Aydon, Allen Jr., Christopher and Alizabeth. Max is also survived by his mother, Ella Mae Sumpter; he was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 4 – 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park. Funeral services will take place the next morning at 11am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
