Mary Scoggan-Yeaman, 68, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on November 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was a boxer for 10 years fighting Parkinson’s disease and was diagnosed just a year ago with ALS.
Rock Steady Boxing was her second “home”. She gained lasting relationships and friends to share in her fight against Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady provided her the hope and positivity needed to fight as long as she could.
Mary was born May 27, 1948 in Indianapolis to Larry and Ruth Scoggan. She spent much of her life caring for her growing family but later in life worked at Market Square Arena and Banker’s Life Fieldhouse.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years David Yeaman; sons Steve (MaryBeth), Daniel, and Corey Yeaman; Brother Larry Scoggan; Sisters Barbara Crossley and Margaret Crabtree; 4 grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 18 from 2 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 19 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
