Indianapolis, Indiana – Mary Lou Pike, 90, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, at Franciscan Hospice House after being comforted by family. A beloved wife and caring mother, she will be deeply missed.
Mary was born on January 24, 1934, in Jacksboro, Tennessee, to parents Frank & Linda (Lawson) Thompson. She attended and graduated Campbell County High School in 1953. Mary also worked in the claims department of Grain Dealer’s Insurance Company.
When she took the time to relax, Mary was a world class seamstress who loved to spend time making a nice cross-stitch. She also loved collecting and even making her own baby dolls, having quite a large collection. Also, she found joy in cooking, gardening flowers, and playing the piano.
Mary would surround herself with beauty, decorating her house and life with wonderful things. This includes the people she surrounded herself with, like her beloved husband Henry Pike and daughters Cynthia and Tammy.
Mary is survived by her husband, Henry, and daughters Cynthia Johnson (Billy), Tammy L. Lash (Jerry), grandchildren Abi Mangone (Agustin), Britanny Grubb (Andrew), Jordan Lash, and Rachel Shuster, and two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Madeline.
Family will gather at Washington Park East Funeral Home (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) at 11:30 am before transitioning to the cemetery for a graveside service at 12:00PM with Officiant Loral Tansy presiding.
