Mary "Carolyn" Payne, of Indianapolis passed away April 23rd, 2024. She was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on November 23rd,1936 to parents Herbert and Eleanor (Gum) Parish.
She graduated from Northside High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She worked as an executive secretary for various companies including Central Soya, Magnavox and Mayflower.
Throughout her life, Carolyn was a gifted seamstress and a wonderful and talented knitter from the time she was 18 years old. She knit everything from blankets, sweaters, coats, and her only granddaughter's entire christening gown, hat, and booties. She also had a lifelong passion for gardening and cooking.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Jacqueline Renee Gordon (Knoxville, TN), Bret Stephen Brase (Miami, FL), Deirdre Lynn Peduto (the late Angelo Peduto) (Indianapolis, IN), and John Wesley Miller (Annette)(Fishers, IN); grandchildren; Elliot Szabo (Samantha), Jordan Frey (Ashley), Kelly Frey, Kerry Frey, Adrian and Gia Peduto, Jack, Joe, and Eli Miller. Great grandchildren; Kandon, Aubrey, Amina, and Errol. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Spooky.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother William (Bill) Parish.
