Mary Marilla Tillery, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away September 15, 2022 in Cape Coral, Florida. Mary was born in Indianapolis to her late parents Gustavus A. Miller and Evelyn Vickery Miller.
Mary graduated from Howe High School in 1954, where she was known as “Millie”. Millie met Lonnie Tillery at Howe and they married in 1955.
They raised 2 daughters in Irvington, then moved to Zionsville, IN. They were snowbirds for many years between their homes in Zionsville and Cape Coral, Florida.
Millie was actively involved in the family business, C&K Management, where they managed rental properties, laundromats, dry cleaning plant, and the Rubber Ducky Car Wash. She later started her own business, Tillery & Dyer, assisting restaurants and bar owners who needed help navigating the state bureaucracy.
Millie is survived by her loving husband Lonnie of 67 years, her daughters Constance Tillery (Steve) Nowell and Kathleen Tillery (Marc) Thomas, her brother Gordon A. (Jonalee) Miller, and her grandchildren Blake (Bri) Thomas and Kristen Thomas, and 3 great-grandchildren Jack, Natalie, and Lillian.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Human Society at 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038.
Visitation will be 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20th with a memorial service beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville at 105 W. Pine Street in Zionsville, IN 46077.
