Mary Louise Williams

Mary Louise Williams, age 83 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday November 11, 2024. Mary was born on January 9, 1941, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Joe Lawrence and LaRuth Bufford (Mance). In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Harold E. Williams Sr.; brother David Shivers; son Calvin Lee & Edmen Williams; daughter Ruth Ann Jewel; and two great-grandchildren. 

Mary attended Crispus Attucks High School. Later in life she received her GED. Mary has held many different jobs. She was an assembly line worker, a cook, an assistant activity director and an entrepreneur of a restaurant and many candy stores. 

Mary confessed her faith at an early age. She always attended someone’s church on Sunday morning. Mary’s last church membership was with First Church of Deliverance and Recovery. She was very active in the church. She has held many positions at different times; President of Usher Board, Pastor’s Aid, and the Nurses Board. 

Mary married Morris Lee and had 3 children. Later she married Harold E Williams Sr. and had two children in their marriage. They would eventually go their separate ways for many years. They rekindled the spark of love and remarried on January 8, 2011. 

Mary loved crafts of all kinds. She was always creating something. Mary also loved planning events, especially for the family. She loved having gatherings with her family. Mary loved family reunions which had to be held at parks due to the size of the family. 

She is survived by children Brenda Ward & her husband Jimmy, Glenda Hollonquest & her husband Emory, Harold Williams & his wife Pamela; brother Donnell Shivers & his wife Jacqueline; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great children; 1 niece; 2 nephews; along with other family members. 

Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 22, 2024, at 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
