Mary Louise (Switzer) Mceowen

Mary Louise McEowen, 101, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Mary Lou was born in Lafayette, IN on December 3, 1919 to parents, Karl and Gladys (Sailor) Switzer. Mary Lou graduated from Otterbein High School and went on to attend both Indiana University and Purdue University. Mary Lou left college and began her career as a travel agent at Eastern Airlines.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She loved music and playing piano; she was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Leonard “Mac” McEowen. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kelb and son, David McEowen (Susan); and two grandsons, James and Christopher.

Friends may call from 4pm until 6pm on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, where her memorial services will immediately follow beginning at 6pm.

Memorial contributions in Mary Lou’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
