Mary Lou Hand Kirchner 74, of Carmel passed away Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born June 7, 1947 to the late Ruby and Albert Hand. Mary Lou attended St. Philip Neri grade school, graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1965 and worked for SEEMAC for 25 years before retiring.
She was the “great” family communicator where, at her knee, rested all happiness, woes, and problems of the family, summoning her guidance. She was deeply involved in her children’s school activities serving as activity chairman. She was also deeply involved in the Church, teaching classes, playing guitar, and participating in several Christ Renews His Parish weekend retreats. As an active member of the community, she enjoyed sailing as a member of the Highlander Fleet at Geist Reservoir, playing cards and taking trips with her friends, pickle ball, and hosting yearly Christmas parties. With the birth of her granddaughter brought many happy hours watching her grow, attending school trips to historical sites, spending time with her on school projects, and making Halloween and other school costumes. After retirement she continued to be actively involved with her school classmate, other friends, and relatives. Luncheons, dinners, and planned trips were a great source of fun.
