Mary L. Higgins

Mary L. Higgins, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

She was born on January 2, 1923 in Fillmore, IN to the late Lewis and Anna Garrett. Mary was a graduate of Fillmore High School and worked at RCA during WWII. She worked in the Finance Center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison and retired with over 25 years of service. Mary was a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church and the O.E.S.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell E. Higgins; and siblings, Walter Garrett, Leroy Garrett, Arthur Garrett, Robert Garrett, Hattie Allen and Gladys Beard.

Mary is survived by her son, Ronald (La Donna) Higgins; granddaughters, Kimberly (Robert) Blitzer and Katherin (Mike) Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Brett, Ashley and Andrew.

Funeral services for Mrs. Higgins will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11am at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, with visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
