Mary Jean Burnett Arnold

Mary Jean Burnett Arnold of Indianapolis died February 1, 2017 at the age of 85.

Mary was born January 30, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN to Richard Otis Burnett and Mary Catherine Sehr Burnett.

She received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and went on to receive her Master’s degree from Butler University. She dedicated her career as a teacher to educating elementary children.

Mary is survived by her daughter Ruth Arnold; grandsons Isaac and Tobias “Toby” Rubenstein; twin brother Jack Burnett; sister Betty Boenne; special nieces Catherine and Jennifer Burnett; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, students, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Ted Rubenstein and brother Richard Burnett, as well as her parents.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 5 from 1 to 5 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 6 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome and can be delivered to the funeral home.
