Mary Jane Robinson

Mary Jane Robinson, 83, of New Palestine, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

She was born on February 12, 1934 in Hardinsburg, IN to the late Cecil and Lucille (Farr) Agan. Mary Jane was a 1951 graduate of Howe High School and attended Ball State University. She worked for a short time at Indiana National Bank and Eli Lilly before meeting the love of her life, Dennis Robinson. They were married on April 15, 1955 and soon after welcomed 3 children into the world. Mary Jane was a loving wife and devoted mother.

In what little spare time she had she enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and spending time in the family’s log cabin in Brown County. She loved to cheer on the Hoosiers, and support the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts teams. In 1967 she and Dennis became the proud owners of Robinson Electric where she served as the bookkeeper and payroll manager until her retirement. In their later years, Mary Jane and Dennis enjoyed time spent in Lake Placid, FL where she loved to go bass fishing on the St. John River.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Dennis Robinson; children, Curtis (Janet) Robinson, Edward C. (Kim) Robinson, Debbie (Ron) Collier; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Robinson, Mindy Bangel, Ashley Hecker, Brad Robinson, Katie Collier, Sara McClain, Danny Collier, Marc Robinson; 5 great-grandchildren, Colin and Connor Hecker, Olivia and Aubrey Bangel, Micah Collier. Mary Jane is also survived by her sister, Donna Pritt. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cooper Adam Hecker.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 3pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Riley Children’s Foundation in honor of Mary Jane’s great-grandson, Cooper Adam Hecker.
