Mary Ann Middlebrook Feeley was born in Burlington, Vermont in 1931. She attended Wells College in New York and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University. She met her husband at Camp Kiniya in Colchester, Vermont. After they married, they moved to Culver, Indiana where Bob taught at Culver Military Academy, and they started a family.
When her children were all in school, she was hired by Indiana Bell (AT&T) in New Castle, Indiana. After retirement Mary Ann began another career working at St. Vincent Hospital as a customer service manager. Later she worked as a private consultant working on Special Projects for St. Vincent and retired at 78.
Faith, family and flowers were the foundation to Mary Ann’s life. She loved gardening, riding horses, playing the piano, cooking and baking for family and friends. She was a member of Salem Methodist Church, where she had many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 52 years John Robert (Bob) Feeley, daughter Barbara Diane Feeley and sister Barbara Sauer Sandage.
She is survived by her sister Harriet Luck, brother-in-law Phil Bixby and several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was the mother of four surviving children: J. Allen (Lisa) Feeley, D.D.S., Susan Terry (Timothy) Horan, Mary Linda Guthrie and Elizabeth Ann (Richard) Suja. Mary Ann was the proud grandmother to: Courtney (Travis) Borton, Andrew Feeley (Madison Vining), Alana (Alex) Kitchel, Andrew (Vanessa) Stackhouse, Brian (Brandy) Stackhouse, Stefanie (Jon) Stafford, Bruce Horan (Kathleen Crockett), Jonathan (Becky) Guthrie, Dr. Meg (Justin) Pennington, James (Diann) Guthrie and Andrew Suja. Mary Ann had a total of 20 great grandchildren who blessed her with art drawings, school pictures, joy and laughter.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19th at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville at 105 West Pine Street, Zionsville. Memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery, Zionsville.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann requested donations to the Humane Society for Boone County or Indy Humane.
