Mary E. Williams

Mary Elizabeth (Hayes) Williams passed away peacefully the evening of October 19, 2017. Mary was born in Indianapolis on Nov. 14, 1946 and was a lifelong resident.

She grew up in Christ the King Parish and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1964. During her adult life, she was an active member of Holy Spirit Church. Mary attended Ball State Teachers College and was a student when the College became a University.
Music and dancing were always favorites of Mary’s. She also loved hosting family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Hayes. She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Williams) Lightcap, husband William, and seven grandchildren: Zachary and Aaron Perkins, Kayla, Sterling, Samantha, Jacob, and Liberty Lightcap. Angie and her family always brought a smile to Mary’s face. She talked of them daily and always with much joy.
Mary is also survived by her siblings, Paul (Alice) Hayes, Martha (Fred) Carlson, Margaret (William) Rawls, Jim (Leigh Ann) Hayes, Cathy (Gus) Ciresi, and Tom (Amy) Hayes. Mary was a special aunt and great-aunt to many, many nieces, nephews and their children.
The Hayes siblings grew up in a large, close, family-oriented home and Mary carried that legacy throughout her life. She will be missed.
