Mary E. Hammer

Mary Evelyn Hammer, 83, of Plainfield, passed away December 21^st, 2022. She was born in Tyronza, Arkansas, September 15^th, 1939, to parents Marlie and Edna Ruth (Carlew) Hindman.

Mary graduated from Arsenal Tech high school in Indianapolis.

A very hard worker, Mary worked as a bookbinder for Rand McNally for over 35 years until retiring.

She married the love of her life Brun E. Hammer and they shared many wonderful years together. Brun passed away in February 2014.

Mary was an independent, charming lady. She took great pride in her home, making sure everything was clean and tidy. Mary spent countless hours in her yard, gardening, planting flowers, and enjoying the wildlife. She enjoyed being social with her neighbors, friends, and family. In her down time, Mary loved to read.

She was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed.

Mary is survived by her sister Barbara Hindman, half brother Rodney, and step brother Bart Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, sister Linda Whitmore, sister Vanessa Moyer, brother JC Hindman and Jerry Neil Hindman.

Visitation for Mary will be Wednesday, December 28^th at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park from 10am-12pm. Her funeral will begin at 12pm. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery.
