Mary Elaine Dingess Chafin

Mrs. Mary Elaine Dingess Chafin, widowed wife to Fred Chafin for many happy years, was born November 23, 1942, in Logan County, West Virginia, and passed away peacefully in her Indianapolis Indiana home on December 27th, 2024, at the age of 82. Mrs. Chafin was one of thirteen children; her remaining sibling is Vivian Lee (Dingess) Allen. She was known as Elaine by her friends and family; she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Elaine’s strength, southern charm, and enduring love are vivid in the memories of her family, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
