Mary Belle Salimbene

Mary Belle Salimbene passed away peacefully on June 2, 2019, at the age of 98.  Mary was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Waynesburg, Ky. to Henry and Matilda (Johnson) Hall. In her youth, she lived with her parents and siblings on a farm outside of Waynesburg before moving to town where Henry Hall became postmaster. She moved to Dayton, Ohio to work at NCR and met her husband, Joseph. They married on June 20, 1943, in Dayton.

Her many hobbies included china and textile painting, jewelry making, sewing and other crafts. She built on her love of crafts and her business skills to become a regional manager for Artex Hobby Products. She enjoyed camping with her family, traveling around the US with her husband and trips to Hawaii, Italy and Ireland. In more recent years, she took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary will be dearly missed by her surviving daughters; Marilyn Beck, Patricia (Douglas) Copeland and Anna Hayden; her grandchildren Angie Beck, Layla (Kevin) and Anna (Norris) Copeland, Patrick (Jessica) and Nicholas (Nikki) Hayden; and great grandchildren Lily Nolan, and George and Louis Griffith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Patrick Salimbene, her parents, her 12 brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law Richard Hayden.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, from 12 to 2 pm. with a funeral service beginning at 2 pm. at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
