Mary Ann Bakel

Mary Ann Bakel of McCordsville, Indiana passed away on September 27, 2021 at the age of 85.

She was born November 17, 1935 in Prophetstown, Illinois to the late Alfonse and Madeline Hermie.

Mary Ann had a love for travel, bird watching, and spending time with her family and friends. Her many cruises and trips with her daughter were a source of joy. She loved playing cards and going to the casino, unless she was losing and debating the rules. Mary Ann was an amazing cook and baker and always enjoyed a sweet treat. She was a loving friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

She is survived by her children Keith Doubler, Tony Doubler, Deborah Minnette, and Sheila Frazier; her grandson Mitchell Hainje and his wife Zabrina Hainje; her granddaughter Hannah Hainje; her great-grandchild Adeline Hainje; and many additional family and friends that she dearly cherished.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters and brother. 

A Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, October 27 from 6-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis.
