Martin “Bud” Harold Fidler, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on October 2, 2019. He was born September 13, 1944 to John Fidler and Marcella Troutman (Finch); he was one of five children.
Bud attended Washington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. On September 9, 1983, a young lady caught his eye as she walked through their shared neighborhood. Bud took it upon himself to show up to her house to introduce himself, wearing his infamous daisy dukes, and the rest is history. They married 13 years later on January 1, 1996. They shared 36 beautiful years together; they remained deeply in love at the time of his passing. Family remembers Bud as a stubborn man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He also collected arrowheads, loved to play cards with family, and enjoyed watching the Little League World Series. He was retired from Indianapolis Animal Care and Control where he dutifully served his community for 21 years. His sudden passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet him; he was truly a one of a kind man.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Nelson Troutman; twin brother, Marvin “Buck” brother, Mike; and brother in law, Danny. Surviving to cherish his memory are loving wife, Linda Fidler; 7 children, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Barnett; brother, Nelson (Lisa) Troutman; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
All are welcome to visit Monday, October 7 from 10-2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Funeral services will take place at 2 PM. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bud’s honor to Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.
