Martha Sue Ellis

Martha Sue Ellis, 75, passed away peacefully from this earthly life on Monday, April 27, 2020.

She was born on September 27, 1944, in Indianapolis to the late Woodrow and Minnie Moore.

She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother of three. As a devote Christian at New Life in Christ Church in Mooresville, she loved to help out any way she could. Her famous carrot cakes were requested by all when there was any type of gathering.

Martha married Johnie J. Ellis Sr. on July 3, 1965; he preceded her in death on March 24, 2001, after 36 years of marriage.

She’s also preceded in death by parents Woodrow and Minnie Moore, sister Betty Warner, and brother Anthony Moore. She’s survived by children Teresa Gail Ellis (Maxwell), Johnie J. Ellis Jr. (Rosalee), Cheryl Lynn Norton (Cindy), sister Diana Bevers, brother Thomas Moore, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the current restrictions created by the COVID-19 pandemic, no visitation will be allowed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the American Heart Association
