Martha Smith

Martha Smith, 89 of Indianapolis, was called home by her heavenly father on January 1, 2019. Her parents are the late Hobert and Lola Steele.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frederick Smith. The two celebrated 66 years of marriage on New Years Eve. She is a wonderful mother to Carla Turk, Michael Smith and Brian Smith. Martha is the proud grandmother of Raquel Sayman, Derek Tinnon, and Dean Tinnon. Five great grandchildren have been blessed by her love.

She was preceded in passing by all of her siblings, which consisted of 3 sisters and 4 brothers, and several nieces and nephews.

Martha loved to spend time with her family and friends. She is a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Speedway. She enjoyed playing euchre, making crafts, and collecting snow babies and bells. Martha graduated from New Winchester High School in 1947 and retired from American Monitor in 1988.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memory Gardens.
