Martha Marie Goodall Burkhardt

Martha Marie Goodall Burkhardt, age 93, went to be with the Lord in her heavenly home on August 13, 2018.   She was born February 27, 1925 to Earl Goodall and Ruby Dake. She was a Graduate of Decatur Central High School class of 1943. She married Robert Burkhardt on September 15, 1944 at the Belmont United Brethren Church in Indianapolis. She was a proud military officer’s wife and homemaker extraordinaire.  Outside her home she worked at West Newton School cafeteria and was a secretary for Goodwill Industries and Maplehurst Dairy. She was a member of Camby Community Church, West Newton Order of Eastern Star, and her monthly ladies’ book club.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Cynthia) and Terence (Pamela) Burkhardt; grandchildren Kyle (Sara), Dana (Neely) and Jennifer Burkhardt, Stefanie (Bobby) Bryant and Brian Houchens; great grandchildren Jack, Jane, Vaughn and JT Burkhardt, and Sarah Conlin.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and daughter Kathleen Burkhardt.  With her ever present smile, every person she met became a member of Marie’s extended family.

Viewing will be Friday August 17, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township.  Services will be Saturday August 18, 2018 at Camby Community Church with visitation at 10 am and funeral at 11 am.  Her final resting place will be next to her husband in Fairfield Friends Cemetery, in Camby, Indiana.
