Martha Lois Sherrard

Martha Lois Sherrard 97, of Indianapolis, IN was called home to Jesus on November 20, 2021. She was born in Bloomfield, IN on July 23, 1924 to Faughn Della Blaker Harshman and Estel Ray Harshman.  Martha was a graduate of Bloomfield High School.  She retired in 1983, after 17 years of service, from the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township. Martha worked in Food Service at Lowell Elementary School.

Martha was a faithful member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, attending the church 65+ years. She was a member of the Lambda Beta Tau Sunday School Class. Martha enjoyed years of involvement including delivering crosses to newborn babies (The Cradle Roll) and working at the annual church rummage sale.

Martha was a talented seamstress, sewing clothing and doll clothes for her children and grandchildren.  She loved to read, shop and travel the USA. Martha also enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by working on puzzles and always loved spending time with her large family.

Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Charles Lee Sherrard.  She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Myra (David) Brier, Rene (Darrell) Reid, and Carla (Randy) Webb; 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29 from 11am to 1pm at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 2015 S. Arlington Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203 with a funeral service immediately following.  Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
