Martha Jean Hudson Wade Powell

Martha Jean Hudson Wade Powell, 97, of Martinsville, passed away December 5, 2017. Jean was one of ten children, being born September 30, 1920 in Hamilton County, IN to Edward and Ida Bell Hudson. She worked many years at the state government office building and loved spending time with her family. She had many interests, including antiquing and refurbishing, doll making, ceramics, gardening, and raising Himalayan kittens. Survivors include her six beloved grandchildren, Larry Hubble, Tracy Hubble, Robert Hubble, Lisa Hubble, Christopher Wade, Michael Wade, step-granddaughter, Patricia Long, and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and all nine of her siblings, Betty Reel, Rosemary Perkins, Harley Hudson, Paul Hudson, Clifton Hudson, Margaret Crook, Lester Hudson, Lavonn Rigdon, Arthur Hudson, two children, Sally Ann Hubble, and Eddie Lee Wade, husband, Ralph, and ex-husband, Chester Vernon Wade. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-3pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel) with funeral services to begin at 3pm.
