Martha Jane Wood

Martha Jane Wood, 104, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  Jane was born June 30, 1918 in Sheridan, IN to the late William Mack and Josephine Harris Wiles.

Jane worked as a bookkeeper for Wright Coal and Oil for 27 years, retiring in 1983.  She was a very active member of East 91^st Street Christian Church and served as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship.  She was a member of the Whitestown Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as a volunteer at Methodist Hospital. She loved travel and enjoyed the outdoors.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jane was the widow of Harry E. Wood, Jr.  She is survived by her daughters, Jill (husband, Richard) Hall, Jan Sculfort, Beth (husband, Blair) Austin; grandchildren, Jeff Hall, Andy Hall, Katie Attebery, Andi Franks, Joe Sculfort, Drew Austin and Leigh Klay; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Clair Wiles, Lois Cox, and Lloyd Wiles.

A private family service will be held.
