Martha -Ann- Scherb

Martha "Ann" Scherb, 81, passed peacefully on January 22, 2017. Born December 14, 1935 in Greencastle, IN to the late Elmer Jacob and Martha Lucille (Sweet) Ader. Ann grew up and remained a resident of Indianapolis, IN graduating from Shortridge High School in 1954. Ann married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Scherb on November 3, 1957. After having a brief career at AUL, she became a homemaker and mother.

Ann and Bob were married nearly 59 years. Together, they had three children: Cindy (Steve) Grimes, David (Diane) Scherb, Amy (Ed) Gray. In addition, Ann and Bob were blessed to have seven grandchildren. Bob preceded her in passing on August 2, 2016. Ann is survived by her three children, her older sister Donna (Ader) Macy, and her beloved calico cat, Callie

Ann was an exceptionally devoted mother, wife, grandmother and homemaker. She was a lifelong lover of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, squirrels were all drawn to her sweet caring demeanor. Ann was a beloved friend to her neighbors and their pets as well.

She had a great love of the outdoors and gardening, and always making sure that her flowers and yard were beautifully maintained. She spent hours on her back porch, enjoying the birds, and chatting with neighbors. Ann loved the beach, summer, pie, and cookies. Her favorite song was "Let There Be Peace"

Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis humane Society, 7929 N Michigan Rd, Indianapolis IN 46268.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-3pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), with funeral services beginning at 3pm. Online condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
