Martha Ann Heazeltine

Martha Ann (Pictor) Heazeltine of Indianapolis died January 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 87.

Martha was born February 23, 1934, to the late George and Anita Pictor in Hammond, IN. Her childhood years were spent in Batesville, IN, until she graduated from college when she moved to Indianapolis, IN.

She married Thomas Roswell Heazeltine on November 9, 1957.

She began her education at Oldenburg Academy (’52) and furthered her education at Marian University (’56). She retired in 2003 after 25 years at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the chemistry laboratory department.

Martha was an active member and volunteer of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for over 50 years. She loved to read and was an accomplished quilter and member of the Indianapolis Quilt Guild.

She is survived by her children: Paul (Ivy Williams) Heazeltine, Elaine Heazeltine, Greg Heazeltine, and Carol Heazeltine; grandchildren: Jennifer (Daniel) Dixon, and Melanie (Adam) Eakman; and six great-grandchildren.

She had a dry sense of wit and humor if you listened closely. She will be remembered by her family by her inner strength and grace.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, from 4 to 8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 27 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10^th St., Indianapolis, with visitation from 10am until the time of mass.
